Cleverbot and Where Babies Come From

If you're seeing this post, I'm either at the hospital with Kim or recovering from the birth process of our son Aidan Robert Haggerty.

Today's guest post is brought to you by Leanne Shirtliffe of IronicMom.com. Check out her blog HERE. Follow her on Twitter HERE.

Enjoy!

------------------

When Rob Shepherd gave birth just over a year ago, I sent him advice from my own twins. For the recent birth of Aidan, however, I decided to be more helpful; I had a conversation with Cleverbot.

As you can tell, Cleverbot appears to be more clever than my twins as well as me. From reading my questions and comments below, you can see I'm a bit confused about whether or not Kevin and Kim are still pregnant or have a newborn.

When you have children, "confused" becomes your normal state of being. Welcome to the fray, you two. And welcome, Aidan! Forgive me for misspelling your name below and for calling you Adrian. Just remember I'm Canadian; we sometimes have vowel troubles, which is slightly better than bowel troubles.

A Letter to My Two-Year-Old Self

Recently, I've noticed a trend in the blogging community. Nostalgic posts are all the rave. Namely, I've seen several friends of mine who have written letters to previous and younger versions of themselves.

My buddy Leanne wrote an awesome post called: "To My 20-Year-Old Self: Sometimes It’s Better to be Single." You should check it out. It's awesome.

The idea behind this post (and others like it), is that if we could just instill some wisdom in our younger selves, perhaps we could have avoided some really painful mistakes.

Also, these fictitious conversations can be helpful for people who haven't yet gone through those kind of struggles. If you're twenty(ish) and you read Leanne's post, it may help you avoid some of the pitfalls she was unable to see.

But it all got me thinking. What if I went back even earlier. Shoot. If I can create a fake blog time machine, I can go back as far as I want, right?

So I'm going back. Way back.

This is a letter to my two-year-old self:

TheIsleofMan.Net Interview: 'Leanne Shirtliffe from IronicMom.com'

Leanne Shirtliffe writes humorous posts for IronicMom.com as well as NickMom.com. She's a middle school teacher, which resonates with me in a big way. Most importantly, she is the mother of twins. You can pretty much count on her having a crazy amount of crowns in Heaven.

Oh yeah. She's also Canadian and has never tasted Chick-Fil-A.

She's a funny lady. If you're not regularly reading her blog and following her on Twitter, your life is not as fulfilled as it could be.

Leanne was a dear and gave up some of her very valuable to time to humor me and answer some questions, both for me and for you, the readers.

Let's get this party started!
